Our design consisted of 3 main goals: 1) Increased flow. 2) Low inlet temperatures. 3) Smooth airflow. The first objective was achieved by utilizing all of the limited space in the C63S engine bay, resulting in a 35% higher flow rate compared to the original system. The second goal was achieved by developing a fully closed system. The C63S engine bay reaches high temperatures with heat sources such as the turbos in close proximity to the intake system, making it crucial that the intake system remains tight. The ultimate goal was achieved by developing an organically shaped system with individual rounded panel filters to ensure the airflow path contained no sharp corners and thus the flow remained laminar. By making the transitions smoothly from the filters to the turbo inlets, our intake system minimizes the build-up of turbulence, allowing the turbos to run more efficiently. When all 3 objectives are met, our intake system for the W205 C63(S) delivers on all fronts and enables it the turbos to generate the boost more efficiently. This leads to improved throttle response and real performance increases, which increase the more power the engine has. Since there are various turbo upgrades for the C63S, we have also developed a special solution for larger turbos. Our C63S intake is available in 2 configurations: 61mm ID outlets to match the standard turbos and 76.5mm ID outlets to match the larger turbos. Performance Upgrade: Stage 2 C63S: 22-30hp, 20-24ft-lb Performance Upgrade: Original C63S: 10-12hp, 12-15ft-lb Dyno testing was done on both a full C63S and a Stage 2 C63S with downpipes and carried out a software optimization. Below is the dyno chart for the Stage 2 car which had the same tune on all runs and only the airbox was changed. Importantly, the hood was closed for all trips to simulate road conditions. Dyno testing with the hood open - especially with the conical intakes open - does not give a reliable indication of how the intake system affects performance. On the road, the hood is closed and so all the heat from the turbos is retained in the engine compartment. With the C63S, this intense heat is a problem, which is why a closed system is so important. Because the higher air temperature is less dense, the turbos don't push as much, resulting in lower performance. Here, with our fully sealed system, it can be seen that performance increases linearly past 4800 rpm where airflow requirements increase and the original -Airboxes become a limitation. These performance gains were measured after just changing the stock airbox to the Eventuri induction system - all other changes were in place for both the stock airbox and Eventuri induction system. Gains measured on the dyno translate to increased gains on the street Part throttle and full throttle response behavior, with the car pulling to the red line much more eagerly. Tests were conducted back-to-back on the same day and temperatures were monitored to ensure consistency. The car was first tested with the hood closed. Then we left the car on the dyno and installed the Eventuri. The car was then driven again - hood closed. Multiple runs were performed on both configurations to achieve a consistent result.
