ARP uses high quality 8740 alloy that is heat treated to 200,000 psi. This process ensures full heat penetration and the results are far better than the inferior studs from other manufacturers who just lump parts in one basket and hope for the best. After heat treatment, each stud is centerless ground to make it as perfectly concentric as possible. This process involves about ten very light cuts and results in an exceptionally straight part. ARP bolts are thread-threaded after heat treatment, giving them 1000% more fatigue strength than bolts that are thread-threaded before heat treatment (a very common practice in the industry). While this method is more expensive due to the increased stress on the tools, the results are worth the extra effort.
