Original BorgWarner AirWerks turbocharger
The BorgWarner S488SX-E turbochargers are a symbiosis of the attractively priced AirWerks turbochargers and the high technology of the EFR turbos. The most important key feature of the EFR series is the forged and milled compressor wheel in a special design with the perfectly matched high-flow intake ducts. This was adopted in the AirWerks turbochargers to create a perfect response and an optimal build-up of boost pressure as with the EFR chargers. However, the basics of the AirWerks series are retained, so that the charger still has a cast exhaust housing and a robust (overhaulable) plain bearing. The preparation for the speed sensor was also taken over in order to achieve the optimum efficiency of the charger.
All SX-E turbochargers come with a mounting kit and are prepared for a compressed air connection in the compressor housing.
