When you buy a CSF intercooler, you are buying from a cooling systems manufacturer that is an ISO certified Tier 1 OEM supplier who designed, built and tested the entire intercooler in-house. Competitors source their cores from foreign factories and either weld the coolers themselves (not at the factory level) or simply purchase an intercooler from a supplier source. In addition, CSF intercoolers are painstakingly hand welded by experienced TIG welders and finished in a satin black or silver finish that is significantly more resistant to damage than uncoated intercoolers. Like all CSF intercoolers, the N54 intercooler comes in a bar-and-plate style and is thus much more resistant to high boost levels. The rounded bars ensure optimized airflow of the frontal air - a design used only by CSF that is the product of extensive tests in the in-house wind tunnel and optimizes the air distribution on the cooler front. The all-aluminum connectors don't break like the OEM plastic connectors. CSF gives a lifetime guarantee on all coolers. The bar-and-plate design of the cooler has advantages in external environmental influences in addition to its robustness against pressure. Tube-and-fin concepts are much more susceptible to hitting objects such as small stones or the like. This causes minor damage that can lead to pressure losses without the user really noticing.
