For high-performance applications, EXEDY offers dual and triple multi-plate clutches. These are designed for high performance street as well as drag, road and rally racing. The dual disc clutches are rated for approximately 500 ft/lbs of torque and the triple discs are rated for approximately 800 ft/lbs of torque, both numbers on the flywheel. Twins come with both spring damper discs and solid discs depending on the application, while triple discs are all solid discs and are not recommended for street use. All EXEDY Hyper Multi-Plate clutches feature a lightweight chromoly steel flywheel and the famous purple anodized forged aluminum clutch cover. Depending on the application, we have both belt-driven and lug-driven models. All have T5001 ceramic friction materials for extreme heat resistance. Surprisingly, despite their capabilities, multi-disc clutches exhibit easy pedal pressure thanks to a semi-engaged zone provided by the patented clutch cushion feature. SD Type: This model is designed for high performance street and racing cars up to about 600 TQ at FW. They feature vented, thick intermediate plates for longer life and spring damper washers to protect your transmission and drivetrain. SR Type: These clutch covers are designed to have a clamping force approximately 40% higher than stock, allowing for higher torque transfer capacity. Ductile material is used for all compression plates and high burst strength can be achieved in all temperature ranges. HR Type: This three plate model is specifically designed for high performance applications such as over 800 ft/lbs of torque at the flywheel for drag racing. It handles high torque loads and shifts smoothly. Thanks to the light clutch discs, you can shorten your shift times. All EXEDY Racing Hyper Multi Series clutch kits are SFI 1.2/1.5 certified.
