Compatible with the 2010-2014 Shelby GT500 (S197). No permanent modifications to the vehicle are required.

A catch tank is essential on a high-performance vehicle to protect the engine from increased crankcase blow-by that accumulates when driving at high power. Excess oil-saturated air flowing back into the intake tract can lead to performance losses.
Shelby GT500 (S197) Catch Tank Kit Details :
Radium Engineering's catch tanks feature large 10AN ORB ports, a 4AN ORB drain port, 2-stage oil separators, and an O-ring sealed dipstick. This kit mounts to the chassis via the factory holes and blends perfectly with the surrounding components. These two oil catch tanks (PCV side and crankcase side) work completely independently and are sold together. They do NOT vent to the atmosphere (VTA) and are therefore suitable for exhaust and railway use. Closed-loop systems remove the oil and sludge from the PCV gases before they are sent to the engine for combustion. A closed-loop system also promotes crankcase vacuum for optimal performance. In addition, closed systems prevent unwanted oil vapors from entering the interior. The built-in dipsticks in the collection tanks allow easy inspection of the accumulated liquid. No cutting, drilling or permanent modifications to the vehicle are required. The kit installs in minutes and is easily removed for maintenance.

The PCV catch tank runs in line with the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve and retains its factory function. When the pressure in the intake manifold is near or greater than atmospheric pressure, the PCV check valve closes, preventing flow through this hose. Conversely, a "metered" vacuum is created in the PCV hose when the engine is idling, cruising, and braking. This normally draws unwanted crankcase fumes, unused fuel and oil sludge into the intake manifold immediately after a high load run. Note: Because the Radium Catch Tanks are pressure tight, they are great for supercharged applications like this, allowing connection to the intake manifold.

The crankcase ventilation runs in-line with the crankcase ventilation. At low load it is at atmospheric pressure, but when the engine is at high load (WOT) this hose will experience high flow out of the crankcase. This would normally result in a build up of oil and sludge in the air cleaner intake pipe.
