High performance, modified Subaru engines tend to produce excessive amounts of blow-by oil and gases. In these cases, an ordinary small catch tank can quickly fill up with oil and is then no longer sufficient. Like the Radium Engineering Subaru Dual Catch Tank Kit, the AOS (Air Oil Separator) Kit is responsible for keeping blow-by oil and other contaminants out of the intake manifold, manifold, turbocharger and intercooler at all engine loads. The main difference is that an AOS "R" system returns the captured oil to the sump, so no maintenance is required. The built-in heater prevents the water in the AOS from condensing. And because water is denser than oil, there's an integrated water separator at the bottom of the container.
This will prevent water from entering the oil pan, if there is any at all. Because the water is trapped at the heater, it will eventually boil and evaporate out of the system. The AOS consists of three CNC-machined parts that bolt together and are sealed with O-rings.

*When operating in frigid environments, Radium Engineering recommends installing insulating tubing (not included) over all tubing exposed to cold airflow. This prevents the natural phenomenon of condensation freezing and clogging the hose.
*For RHD vehicles, our Universal AOS-R must be used for custom fitting and piping.
